During the months of September and October, the Excelsior Springs Fire Department will be selling t-shirts, long-sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts, hooded and zip-up hooded sweatshirts to raise breast cancer awareness.
To help raise awareness and to demonstrate the products they’re selling, fire department personnel will be wearing the navy blue and pink t-shirts during October, the Breast Cancer Awareness month.
This isn’t the fire department’s first foray into breast cancer fundraising and awareness. Each fall, they sell and wear a different shirt, with proceeds going to fund research or, in some instances, being donated to local residents who are battling breast cancer and need financial assistance.
The funds collected from the selling of the shirts this fall will be donated towards raising awareness of Breast Cancer.
For information or to purchase one of the shirts for yourself or a loved one, see any Excelsior Springs firefighter or stop by the fire station, located at 1120 Tracy Ave. You can also learn additional information by calling the fire department’s non-emergency line, 816-630-3000.
