Auditions have ended and Brenda Hambrick, chairperson of Waterfest’s EX Factor competition, has announced the 36 lucky contenders who will be singing their way toward a $2,000 grand prize.
Eighteen men and 18 women have been chosen from the open auditions, which took place Tuesday evenings for the past two months. EX Factor will take place on the main stage during Waterfest this coming weekend.
The women will compete in front of judges Friday evening, June 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. Scheduled to appear are: Ashlyn Arth, Autumn Stalder, Beckie Leonard, Carolyn Vogler, Jan Owens, Joyce Linville, Katie Kavanaugh, Kelly Wilkins, Mary Lewis, Mendy Mallott, Miranda Cooper, Rachel Cline, Rachel Wicker, Samantha Barrett, Shannon Weise-Osborne, Sherry Ballinger, Taylor Cotton and Vanessa DeWaters.
Men will take the stage Saturday afternoon, June 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. Scheduled to appear are: Alan Bunn, Brett Simpson, Danny Larson, David Shewell, Gavin Morris, Jason Snow, Jesse Kerns, Jimmy St. John, Keegan Shewell, Kevin Cline, Nathan Lloyd, Nick Stodden, Ryan Burns, Scott Lammert, Shawn Shewell, Steve Samuels, Tyler Greenwood and William Koons.
Judges will select 10 finalists from these two nights who will then return Sunday, June 30, and perform again between 2 to 4 p.m. for the grand prize of $2,000.
In addition to the $2,000 prize money, the grand prize winner will receive a recording session of one song in a professional studio, plus receive an invitation to be the opening act at Broadway Bar & Grill during Excelsior’s BBQ Contest & Fly-In at the River weekend, Aug. 16-17, 2013. The second place winner will receive $350 and third place will take home $150.
