Ag Moves brings agriculture lessons to Lawson students

Posted in:

Students at Southwest Elementary in Lawson are discovering agriculture through Missouri Farmers Care’s Agriculture Education on the Move™ (Ag Moves) this summer, led by local educator Tristen Buss.

The hands-on, 10-lesson curriculum is provided at no cost to schools and enrichment programs by the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation, which is supported by Missouri agriculture membership and partnership organizations. Through the lessons, trained educators visit elementary classrooms to help students build agricultural literacy and increase their understanding of agriculture through interactive experiences in the classroom and on the farm.

A passionate educator team is leading 6,067 elementary students across Missouri through the Ag Moves curriculum that connects students to their food, fuel, fibers and farmers. The program also provides vital experiences for future agriculture education professionals through the collegiate internship program, which includes 24 interns this summer.
