Clay, Platte counties, state of Kansas each charge Excelsior Springs resident with various crimes

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – More felony charges have been filed against Joshua Edward McCoy, 31, Excelsior Springs. McCoy faces mostly felony bad check charges, which have been filed in Clay and Platte counties in Missouri, and Johnson County in Kansas. NEW CHARGES McCoy’s legal issues in Clay County have expanded from reporting done Feb. 18. The Clay County Court on April 22 found McCoy had failed to abide by a supervision order. The court set a cash-only bond of $25,000 after Prosecutor Dan White’s office called for bond revocation. The court set a hearing for 9 a.m. Friday. Filed April 26 following a grand jury indictment, McCoy is charged with felony stealing of $750 or more Dec. 9. In an indictment revealed March 3 following a case filed Feb. 22, McCoy is charged with felony passing of a bad check Dec. 19 and Dec. 23. The court set bond at at $100,000.
