Council approves road repair change order; price up by $64k

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The city has tweaked plans for overlaying asphalt on North Jesse James Road and other thoroughfares. On May 17, the City Council approved a $64,465 change order for road repairs. Requested by Lamp Rynearson, the company serving as project engineer, the order covers additional materials for expanding the milling and overlay work from North Jesse James Road to U.S. Highway 69, and milling and overlay work on Concourse Avenue. The section of road runs “between the Meadowlark intersection – … about 600 feet – down to the edge of 69 Highway and the signals and little on-ramp to the north,” Public Works Director Chad Birdsong, who submitted the order to the council, said. The order also states the work covers changing the width of shoulder repairs made by driveways and adding concrete casing to the ends of storm pipes.
