Six cases in Excelsior Springs, ‘multiple’ in Lawson School District

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A COVID-19 outbreak is being addressed in Excelsior Springs, a different outbreak shut down sports camps in Lawson and the number of Ray County cases jumped by more than 50% in a week. Excelsior Springs Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kristen DeHart said Monday that Home Health experienced “right at six” community cases, but that situation is under control. “I do feel that way,” she said. EXCELSIOR SPRINGS Clay County Health Department spokeswoman Kelsey Neth said the department is working with Excelsior Springs Hospital Home Health to address the community outbreak. “Our team is heavily involved in helping them with that,” she said. The department provides monitoring, recommendations and contract tracing, Neth said.
