EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Tri-County Mental Health Services staff is reaching out to the community to offer coping tools to reduce family stress caused by the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

The recommendations are part of new multimedia resiliency and parenting campaigns.

“Being together as a family for such extended periods during this difficult time can present its own challenges,” Laura Bruce, Tri-County prevention program development specialist, said. “Fortunately, there are many evidencebased resiliency tools that can make the experience a positive one.”

Bruce said Tri-County prevention staff, aligned with the Northland Coalition, has joined prevention advocate volunteers from Northland community coalitions to share the proven coping skills caring adults can use to turn a stressful situation into a more comfortable one.
