Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) #40 and Superintendent of Schools Dr.Travis Hux, have announced Hux will retire from the school district effective June 30, 2023.

Hux began his tenure as superintendent of schools in the 2021-22 school year.

Before coming to ESSD, he spent 12 years as assistant superintendent in the Raytown School District.
