JERRY ALAN CLINE
Jerry Alan Cline, 76, of Lawson, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family in the early hours of Monday, Nov. 2, 2020.
Jerry was born in Chicago on Feb. 19, 1944. He was united in marriage to Donna Dothage in Mosby on July 12, 1963.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence A. Cline Jr. (Peewee); beloved wife; and their dog, Molly, of the home.
His survivors include his mother, Lavene Baker of Richmond; two brothers, Thomas (Lynda) Cline of Millville and Jesse (Stefanie) Cline, of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Valerie Cline and Lisa (Robert) Small of Lawson; five grandchildren, Joseph Cline, Kimberly Fines, Cierra (Michael) Zelaya, Talia Travillion and Kaleb Travillion; eight great-grandchildren, Kollin, Caitlyn, Elianna, Emmett, Conner, Evan, Ayla and Jacob; many nieces and nephews; and his two cats of the home, Sheba and Callie. Jerry’s accomplishments and hobbies included working at the Chicago Steel Mill; trucking for the Fruhauf and Chicago-Kansas City trucking companies; serving garage foreman of Hill Bus Co. of Lawson; owning Clines Truck and Car repair of Lawson, servings as a deputy with the Ray County Sheriff’s Department and an officer with Lawson Police Department; spending a decade with Lawson Fire and Rescue, where he was was the first of three generations to follow in his footsteps; and retiring from the Truman Presidential Library and Museum. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers; fishing with his brother-in-law, Elgin Jr. Dothage of Forsythe; gardening; and driving grandkids around on his John Deere tractor in his retirement. No services will be held, per Jerry’s request. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 5, 2020, located at Old Union Cemetery in Lawson.
