Lawrence (Larry) Watt Wilson, 96, of Winterset died peacefully on May 3, 2021, at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Larry lived most of his life in Sac City, Iowa, and recently in Winterset. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Rim during World War II.

Larry married Marjorie Carnine in 1946. They had two children. In 1977, he married Betty McKee and gained three stepchildren.

He was a lifelong house builder and contractor who loved to play golf until the age of 90. He will be remembered for his many stories and quirky sense of humor.

Larry is survived by his children, Susan Wilson (Steve Dingman) and Steven Wilson (Linda); stepchildren, Tracy Drey (Dan), Rob McKee (Mariecris) and Tish McKee; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and grandsons, Randy Groth and Kyle Drey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 29, at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City. Military honors will be provided by the Sac City VFW Post No. 590.
