Tigers return to gridiron against Harrisonville in MRVC West clash

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Tiger varsity football is back. The Tigers will be in action at 7 p.m. Friday at Harrisonville after being forced to take a week off because of COVID-19 protocols. Excelsior Springs is 2-1 entering the Missouri River Valley Conference West Division matchup, posting wins over Savannah and Moberly, and falling to Warrensburg. The Wildcats are 3-1, with wins over Wayne Hills, New Jersey; Maryville; and Warrensburg. Their loss was to Pleasant Hill. Defensively, the Tigers must stop an offense that is averaging 36 points per game. Senior running back Jace Reynolds is the focal point of that offense, averaging 234 yards a game and 10 touchdowns this season. When he is not getting the ball, he is backed up by his freshman brother, Nate Reynolds, who is averaging 105 yards a game and has scored three touchdowns.
