Family atmosphere drives Miller to run track, cross country for ESHS

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Running for the Tigers in cross country and track gives senior Lacey Miller the sense of being part of a family of athletes. “I love cross country and track equally because it has been a blessing to be a part of this group since the seventh grade,” Miller said. Outside the world of high school running, Miller enjoys being active in her church, where she helps lead her youth worship group, she said. And as a history buff, she enjoys seeing the similarities between the people of today and those of the past, and to see what life was like before she was alive, she said. After graduating from Excelsior Springs High School, Miller said she plans to attend MCC-Maple Woods in Kansas City to take advantage of the A+ program she has earned. From there, she plans to attend Spurgeon College in Kansas City to pursue her biblical counseling degree, she said. Miller has a twin brother, Logan, who is seven minutes older...
