EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Touchup construction work at Elkhorn Elementary School in Ray County and the Early Childhood Center is complete, Superintendent Travis Hux told district leaders Jan. 10 during the Board of Education meeting at the Support Services Center.
Work done during the holiday break at the ECC included floor renovation and painting, Hux said. Bathroom renovations occurred at Elkhorn.

In addition, an Elkhorn recovery room no longer looks like “a dungeon,” characterized by an “open ceiling … pipes and all that,” Hux said. “It looks like a standard
“It looks like a standard … office, sort-of classroom now,” he said.
In other construction news, Hux said the bulk of renovation work is complete on the baseball stadium on the high school campus.
“Things like seating and dugout painting and graphics … (are) coming in later months here,” he said. “It might be after baseball season before we get to do the new seats just due to supply chain issues and that sort of thing.”
