OAK GROVE – The Tigers were one and done in the postseason in girls basketball. Excelsior Springs’ season ended Feb. 26 at Oak Grove High School with a 46-42 loss to Marshall in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament. In falling to the Owls, the Tigers finished 6-18 with an 11-game losing streak. The Tigers bolted to a 6-2 lead, but that lead slipped away as the Owls finished the first quarter with an 8-2 run and led 10-8 entering the second quarter. Excelsior Springs tied it up quickly in the second quarter, then took the lead midway through the second quarter. The Tigers led 21-19 at halftime. Excelsior Springs held the lead for the first four minutes of the second half before the Owls connected on back-to-back buckets to reclaim the lead.
