Houck resigns ESSD board, joins staff

Dr. Steve Houck has resigned from his position on the Excelsior Springs Board of Education so that he may serve as a science teacher at the high school. During a special board meeting June 1, the school board accepted his resignation and then accepted Houck’s hiring as a staff member. The motion was pending Houck’s release from employment with the Richmond R-XVI School District. Houck served as a board member for 11 years and was recognized for his service during the June 27 regular board meeting. “It’s been my honor to work with all of you. I’m just switching hats and going in a bit of a different direction, but I’m excited to still be serving the district,” Houck said.
