Depth has ES tennis coach anticipating season
A group of returning netters has Excelsior Springs tennis coach Richie Marsh excited about this fall.
“Our fans can expect to see our girls competing from start to the end,” said Marsh, who’s in his 12th season leading the program. “We are deeper than we have been in the last couple of years and that has allowed for players to compete with one another to make it tougher to earn spots.”
The Tigers expect to put 11 players on the courts, including four seniors. Those seniors include Anna Selby, who placed third in singles last season at districts.
In other singles news, senior Lauren Mueller looks to fill the No. 2 spot and sophomore Megan Riegel looks to fill the No. 3 position. Senior Lana Nunnenkamp will start in the No. 4 number spot, with first-year sophomore players Malaya Tedesco and Shelby Stodden and first-year high schooler Evie Selby competing for the final two varsity positions....
