Children, parents offered an affordable way to shop gifts
Meet the Need volunteers have worked hard to allow parents and children to shop for each other during the holidays.
“The volunteers will put things to the side all year long that they think will be good for little kids to pick (as gifts) for their parents or guardians. It brings in revenue and awareness to our nonprofit,” said Executive Director Valerie Hoffecker. “The revenue all goes back into the food pantry and all the help we give to the community,” she said.
Santa’s Workshop began last year after Meet the Need Manager Cheryl Sosnowski came up with the idea.
“For me and probably a lot of other people, it’s kind of nostalgic because Antioch Mall had their little kid shopping area in the middle of the mall,” said Hoffecker.
