Bown headed to Springfield to play for Evangel

Another Excelsior Springs football player is taking his game beyond high school. Senior offensive/defensive lineman Lance Bown recently signed his letter to play at Evangel University, an NAIA program, in Springfield, where he plans to major in psychology before moving on to police academy training. After receiving offers from Marshall-based Missouri Valley College, an NAIA program; and Liberty-based William Jewell College, an NCAA Division II school, Bown chose Evangel because of the amazing atmosphere, location and program’s success, he said.
