Excelsior Springs girls hoopsters drop 10th, 11th straight

Excelsior Springs’ losing streak in varsity girls basketball has reached double digits. The streak reached 10 on Feb. 17, when the girls fell 62-29 at Grandview in Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division action. The Tigers kept pace through the first half but then found themselves trailing by double digits in the second half, when their shooting went cold. They ended the first quarter down by three and the first half down by seven. The Bulldogs, who led 24-17 at halftime, exploded for a 27-point third quarter to put it out of reach. Grandview finished it with an 11-5 fourth quarter. Kinley Rogers, a first-year high schooler, paced Excelsior Springs with 11 points. Bella Loeffert, also a first-year high schooler, added seven points.
