Jacob Schmidt and his Excelsior Springs varsity boys golf teammates fought through the elements when they played in an April 13 triangular hosted by Winnetonka at Hodge Park Golf Club in Kansas City. Schmidt managed the weather well enough to place second overall with a nine-hole round of 41. The junior helped the Tigers shoot a combined 190 and finish second.
