Mason Danner “deserved a better fate” when Excelsior Springs faced Oak Park April 15 as part of a rain-shortened triangular at Tiger Stadium, according to Tigers coach Aaron Holst. Danner was the starting pitcher in Excelsior Springs’ 15-3 loss to the Northmen. The senior went 5 1/ 3 innings against the Kanas City-based program. Unofficially, he yielded 11 hits, seven runs and three walks, with two wild pitches. He also struck out four.
