GARY W GILLISPIE II
Gary W Gillispie II, who was being held on felony drug trafficking charges, has been released on his own recognizance (ROR) following a recent bond reduction hearing.
Circuit Seven Judge Louis Angles approved the request made by public defender Kevin Garrison on Gillispie’s behalf.
Gillispie, 38, of Excelsior Springs, appeared in person and in custody for the hearing, which was held in the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in Clay County. Gillespie was being held in the Clay County Detention following his arrest on one Class B felony of trafficking drugs in the second degree charge.
Clay County prosecutors agreed to ROR with conditions due to the current jail situation and Gillispie’s charges.
Judge Angles approved the bond reduction and applied bond conditions, including: will be supervised by Northland Dependency Services (NDS); can not drive unless licensed and insured; report to NDS every two weeks; repath level 3 electronic monitoring and drug testing; required to actively seek employment, maintain employment or commence an education program; can not possess a firearm; adhere to 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, unless working; can not possess alcohol or any controlled substance without a valid prescription; undergo any medical, psychological, or psychiatric treatment recommended by bond supervisor; can not leave the state of Missouri without permission from bond supervisor; and no contact with any co-defendants.
According to the complaint and request for a warrant, on or about March 23 in Clay County, the defendant knowingly possessed more than 10 milligrams of fentanyl – a controlled substance — knowing of its presence and nature.
The range for punishment for a class B felony is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term of not less than five years and not to exceed 15 years.
The Excelsior Springs Standard will continue coverage of this case.
