JEFFERSON CITY – Judge W. Doug Thomson received an appointment from Gov. Mike Parson to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.

Thomson will succeed Judge Victor C. Howard, a former Clay County circuit judge, who retired in November.

A native of Maryville, Thomson received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Missouri State University in Springfield. He holds a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Thomson is a member of the Missouri Bar Board of Governors and the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges.

He a member of his community’s church and Lion’s Club.
