A Clay County judge has ordered a special prosecutor be appointed on a case involving a Missouri City woman.Kala R. Seevers, 33, is facing two felony charges and one misdemeanor for crimes that allegedly occurred in Excelsior Springs. These charges include third-degree assault on a special victim, resisting arrest and seconddegree tampering with a motor vehicle.Last week, Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Louis Angles appointed a special prosecutor from the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office. This decision came after Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Thompson submitted an application requesting the appointment to avoid a conflict of interest since Seevers is a victim in a separate Clay County case. Seevers previously posted a bond of $50,000 and was mistakenly given the wrong court date at that time.
