Crystal Lakes partners with conservation agency
Crystal Lakes leaders believe a new partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will transform the city’s lakes into more accessible, sustainable and enjoyable public resources.Mayor Jeremy Dorrel noted the idea first surfaced when a resident raised the question of outside help during a city meeting. That suggestion sparked further conversations and action.“It happened through positive conversations and comments at one of our public city meetings,” said Dorrel. “A citizen inquired about any outside sources as a way to help manage our city lakes.”Alderman Andrew Holdgraf followed up on the suggestion by researching opportunities and initiating discussions with the state.“Alderman Andrew Holdgraf went to work and researched this topic and set up an on-site meeting with a representative from MDC to see if we would qualify and benefit from their program,” stated Dorrel.The city has now ...
