Tigers take early lead in loss to Raytown
Excelsior Springs claimed the early momentum during its 35-12 Sept. 19 home loss to Raytown.The Tigers led once during the varsity 11man football clash, 6-0. Quarterback Landon Marcum and running back Marques Shouse connected on a 48-yard TD pass to provide the first-quarter score.Shouse, a sophomore, said making an adjustment on his route was key to catching the pass so he could score the touchdown.“I thought it was going to be short, so I stopped running and I came up and it was just right there,” he recalled Monday. “And it was, like, so unexpected.
