Excelsior Springs is preparing to expand support for homebound seniors with the appointment of Tammy Murphy as the first coordinator for the Meals and a Visit Program (MVP).The initiative is designed to deliver nutritious meals and companionship to residents who struggle with mobility or lack regular social interaction. Murphy’s background in education, financial management and community leadership made her a strong match to guide the program as it moves into its launch phase and begins turning long-term planning into daily service.The development of MVP began after city leaders heard recurring concerns from residents, volunteers and local organizations about senior nutrition and isolation.
