Lyons prepares to lead ESHS baseball

With a new season approaching, the leadership of the high school baseball program is changing, paving the way for a fresh direction for the upcoming year. That change places Cale Lyons at the helm of the Excelsior Springs High School baseball team as the district prepares for its next chapter on the field.When long-time head coach Aaron Holst retired, Lyons officially applied for the position, as the opportunity closely matched his career goals and his family’s priorities.“I had been looking for a tightknit community to continue my teaching and coaching career,” explained Lyons. “I have always wanted to teach and coach in a ‘1-School’ town where my wife and I can raise our twodaughters in a good environment. I have always admired the Excelsior Springs community, the high school and its athletic programs.
