The payment deadline for Clay County real estate and personal property tax bills has been extended to Jan. 30.Many residents received their tax bills later than anticipated due to the delays caused by the Senior Real Estate Property Tax Relief Program (SB190).County officials said the extension is intended to eliminate confusion and lessen the burden placed on residents.No penalties or interest will be assessed for tax bills paid by the extended deadline.“We are working to implement tax relief for seniors,” said Commissioner JerryNolte.“As with any impactful change, there are challenges. As a result, we are extending the deadline to Jan. 30 for both real estate and personal property tax payments.”Tax bills for parcels enrolled in the Senior Real Estate Property Tax Relief Program are available online.
