Leadership intern position approved in split vote
A new administrative intern position is coming to the district as part of a leadership development effort intended to prepare future administrators. After considerable discussion about staffing priorities and long-term planning, board members approved the measure by a split vote.Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Operations Scott Guilkey noted the position would shift an existing staffing allocation rather than add a new employee to the district’s budget. The role was piloted at the high school during the 2025-26 school year, with one teacher splitting classroom duties and administrative responsibilities. Under the approved plan, that position will transition to a full-time administrative intern without backfilling the teaching portion, meaning no additional staff will be added.
