NANCY L. MCDONALD
Nancy McDonald 1944-2026 Nancy L. McDonald, 81, of Wood Heights passed away Jan. 19, 2026, at NorthCare Hospice House.
Nancy was born Feb. 11, 1944, in Kansas City to James and Ruby Morgan (Bishop).
She spent her youth in Merriam Kan., where she excelled in art while demonstrating a creative side. One of her fondest memories was being chosen to have lunch with the mayor due to her art work. Nancy’s parents even received a letter from Crayola asking for their permission for Nancy to test new crayons!
Nancy attended Turner High School, where she met our father, Charles L. McDonald. They later married on July 14, 1961. During this union, they had five children by the time they were 22 years old.
They later divorced and Nancy married Raymond Juarez, who survives of the home.
Nancy worked various jobs throughout her life. They included Libby’s; and the Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Richmond school districts, serving as a custodian, lunch cook and server. Nancy also performed custodial services at Arrowhead Stadium for 10 years, where she collected a pension from the NFL during her retirement years.
Earlier in her life, Mom took up belly dancing, which she took a great deal of pride in! Mom would later go on to teach belly dancing classes to new students. Nancy also “tinkered” with playing the drums!
Later in life, Nancy went to school to learn how to perform massage therapy, graduating from Heritage College near the top of her class. However, Nancy (or Mom) stated that her greatest accomplishment in life was her five kids!
Mom excelled at being a homemaker and mother! Nancy ensured she had a clean house, clean laundry and clean children!
Outside of her family, Nancy loved the Kansas City Chiefs, professional wrestling, music and classic movies. Nancy was knowledgeable when it came to actors and musicians.
During her final years she loved watching her squirrel, Ricochet, come to the back door.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Morgan Jr.
In addition to her husband, Raymond Juarez, she is survived by her children, Charles (Lesa) McDonald, William McDonald, Daniel (Donnetta) McDonald, Jodi (Jeff) King and Brandi McDonald; and two sisters, Pam Brown and Linette (Gary) Rutledge. Mom also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
