Edward Dwaine Cowsert, age 88, of Excelsior Springs passed away Aug. 9, 2023. Dwaine was preceded in death by his father, Bob; stepmother, Helen Cowsert; mother, Velma; stepfather, Roy Stephens; brother, Gerald Cowsert; and half-brother, Alan Stephens. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty; sisters, Alberta Dinsmore of Lee’s Summit and Roberta Deitch of Tina; son, Gary Cowsert of Austin, Texas; daughter, Kathy Richards of Excelsior Springs; son, Dale Cowsert of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Dwaine and Betty spent most of their married life in the Excelsior Springs area, with the exception of a few years in the Cameron/Winston area, followed by some time on the Lake of the Ozarks, where they retired and built a house before returning to Excelsior Springs.
