MARGARET ANN “PEGGY” CRAVEN

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Craven, 80, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Peggy was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Mexico, Mo., the daughter of James and Wilma (Sims) Berry.
She graduated high school in Excelsior Springs and went on to attend William Jewel College and Northwest Missouri State University, where she graduated with a teaching degree.
Peggy taught several grade levels throughout her career before receiving her master’s degree in administration. She finished her career as principal of Elkorn Elementary School in the Excelsior Springs School District.
Peggy married Robert Craven on Aug. 12, 1966. They raised two children, Nicci (Jim) Spencer and Scott (April) Craven; and have 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Peggy loved the Lord. She enjoyed the Bible studies in which she was involved.
She was a member of several community groups, including her sorority, where she made many lifelong friends.
Peggy loved to travel, and one of her favorite places was Estes Park, Colo. She and Bob spent most summers traveling there with friends and family.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wilma Berry; in-laws, Roy and Pauline Craven; and sister Pat Lammert.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert; daughter, Nicci, and son-in-law, Jim Spencer; son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, April Craven; brother-in-law, Larry Lammert; and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, March 21, at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., with the funeral following.
