Stephen Brandt Owens, Sr., of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. He was 47 years old.

Steve was born in Kansas City, MO on Jan. 8, 1974, to Buddy Owens, Sr. and Mary Brand Owens. He was the youngest of his four siblings.

Steve has left behind his three children, sons, Stephen Owens, and Zachariah Owens, daughter Abigail Owens, and grandson, Abram Owens. 

Additional survivors include his wife Rebecca (Roush) Owens; siblings, Deborah (Ronnie) Swope, Julia (Steve) Zimmerman, Brent Knudson and Buddy Owens, Jr., all of Excelsior Springs, MO. 

Steve was a sharp-witted and skilled automotive painter with an ability to fix anything. He was connected to many through family, friendship and trade and will be missed by all. 

The family will be welcoming those who knew and loved Steve at the Eagles Lodge in Excelsior Springs for a casual celebration of life on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, from 6 to 7 p.m. 

Steve will be laid to rest at Moore Cemetery with a small service for immediate family, officiated by his beloved uncle, Ralph “Eddie” Brand.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed at the memorial to alleviate the financial burden of after life costs.
