Excelsior varsity netters split home tennis duals
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The varsity tennis team got to stay home last week. Excelsior
Excelsior Springs hosted back-to-back home duals, falling 9-0 March 30 to Warrensburg and defeating Lexington 6-3 April 1.
Senior Caleb Hatfield dropped his No. 1 singles match in the Warrensburg dual 8-0. Senior Antonio Martinez fell 8-0 in No. 2 singles, followed by sophomore Joshua Oldham dropping his No. 3 match 8-1.
Senior Slade Tacket dropped the No. 4 match 8-0. Sophomore Colby Mueller fell in the No. 5 match 8-2. Sophomore Carter Pitts dropped the No. 6 match 8-3.
Hatfield and Oldham teamed up for the No. 1 doubles match and fell 8-0. Martinez and Tackett dropped their No. 2 doubles match. Mueller and Pitts battled before dropping the No. 3 match 8-3.
