On April 23, Excelsior Springs honored its senior varsity baseball players.

Some of the honorees responded to the recognition by cranking out hits to help the Tigers cruise to a 7-1 win over Belton.

Kaelan Bedford, Cooper Collins, Henry Crowley, Conor Eich, Cruz Lloyd, Brody Querry, Cameron Rumore and Carter Smith were the seniors who were honored during a pregame ceremony. Members of that group accounted for seven of Excelsior Springs’ nine hits.

Collins – who plans to wrestle at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa, after graduating high school this month – led the way by going 3-for-4, with four RBIs and three runs scored. All of his hits were extra-base hits, including a home run.

Querry went 2-or-3, with an RBI and a run scored. His two hits were extra-base hits, including a solo homer.

Lloyd and Rumore contributed a hit apiece. Rumore’s stat line also included two RBIs.
