Tigers win back-to-back games by looking inside
The inside game helped Excelsior Springs get its first two wins this season in varsity girls basketball.By scoring in the paint, the Tigers edged Lexington 4542 Dec. 3 and then crushed Kansas City East 71-8 Dec. 5. Both ballgames were at Excelsior Springs.Post players Lizzy Hormell and Kinley Rogers led the Excelsior Springs girls past Lexington. Rogers, a junior, led the way with 20 points. She also grabbed 14 rebounds for a double-double.Hormell, a senior, contributed 17 points. Her stat line also included nine rebounds.Other contributors included juniors Bella Loeffert and Kayden Rogers. Loeffert, a guard, had 12 rebounds and five points. Kayden Rogers dished out five assists and scored two points.Excelsior Springs threatened to pull away from Lexington during the first half, leading 28-14 at halftime.
