City pursues input to preserve historic Isley neighborhood
Residents have an opportunity to help shape the future of one of Excelsior Springs’ oldest neighborhoods as the city begins developing a preservation plan for the Isley Boulevard neighborhood.
The city recently received a historic preservation grant to develop the Isley Neighborhood Preservation Plan, a long-term roadmap intended to help preserve the area’s historic character while guiding future investment and neighborhood improvements. As part of the planning process, residents are encouraged to complete a community survey, available online at https://arcg.is/10CTry1, through the end of July to help shape the final plan, expected to be completed this fall.
The project is funded in part through a $25,300 Historic Preservation Fund grant awarded to the City of Excelsior Springs. The city is providing a $17,258.74 local match, bringing the total project cost to $42,558.74.
