Clay County unveils Ten Most Wanted
A new Clay County initiative is seeking the public’s help in locating individuals facing serious criminal charges who remain at large.The Ten Most Wanted program is a collaborative effort between the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, other local law enforcement agencies and Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers.The list is designed to help locate and apprehend individuals facing serious criminal charges who have active warrants for their arrest. Individuals who provide information leading to an arrest through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a $3,000 anonymous, tax-free reward.The effort was launched in part to address delays caused by defendants failing to appear in court, leaving criminal cases unresolved and victims waiting for justice.“Delayed arrests of individuals result in significant slowdowns in the criminal justice system.
