Six decades of creating employment opportunities and fostering independence for individuals with developmental disabilities recently earned special recognition, highlighting the lasting impact of one Clay County organization.

The Clay County Commission recently approved a resolution honoring Vocational Services Inc. for reaching its 60th anniversary milestone and its longstanding impact on local residents.

According to the resolution, Vocational Services Inc. has spent six decades helping individuals with developmental disabilities achieve greater independence through meaningful employment and workforce development opportunities. Today, the organization employs more than 110 individuals with disabilities through its Extended Employment Program while also helping participants secure competitive integrated employment throughout the community.
