After nearly 13 years, the city of Excelsior Springs is losing a highly valued public works employee. T.R. Kennedy has announced his retirement and will clock in for the last time on March 29. Having worked in Public Works at the Refuse Site, most of his employment has been spent as the Facilities Maintenance Technician, working in the Hall of Waters, the Police Station and taking care of the city’s bank building. Kennedy also provided tours and insight into the history of the Hall of Waters for community members and visitors. “He is very valuable and knowledgeable in this position because he is certified in HVAC and knows how to troubleshoot maintenance and mechanical issues, particularly old boilers,” said City of Excelsior Springs Human Resource Manager and City Clerk Shannon Stroud. “His knowledge through his years of service will be missed.” Kennedy started with the city before these 13 years but left to do missionary work in Kentucky. “When I came back, I got a call from the…
