Local officials call attention to elder abuse
Local officials are encouraging residents to recognize the warning signs of elder abuse and remain connected with older adults after recent proclamations highlighted a problem affecting thousands of Missourians each year.
The Clay County Commission and Excelsior Springs City Council recently approved proclamations recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, using the observance to raise awareness about the importance of preventing abuse and ensuring older adults are treated with dignity, respect and care.
