Governor attends sesquicentennial for city of Lawson

LAWSON – For the first time since 1994, a Missouri governor visited Lawson. Gov. Mike Parson spoke July 8 at Lawson Park to kick off the Lawson Picnic and 150th Celebration. This year marks the 150th anniversary of Lawson’s founding, and the 200th anniversary of Missouri’s founding. Because of this, Parson is touring Missouri to commemorate the state’s bicentennial and related events. “When you think of 150 years and you think of all the history of who we are in this state, it is pretty remarkable,” he said.
