EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A juniorladen crew will hit the courts this spring for the Tigers in varsity boys tennis.

Excelsior Springs returns four juniors from last season: Joshua Oldham, Carter Pitts, Colby Mueller and Lee Mueller.

Oldham looks to solidify the top singles spot – a position he held all last season. Pitts will start at No. 2 singles, with Colby Mueller starting in the three spot and Lee Mueller in the four spot.

Another group of juniors – Nolan Greim, Ethan Sams, Evan Hormell and Matthew Rebello – will jockey for the final two singles positions. All four saw action at the junior varsity level last season.

The Nos. 1 and 2 singles will combine to play No. 1 doubles, with the Nos. 3 and 4 singles forming the No. 2 doubles team, and Nos. 5 and 6 combining for the No. 3 doubles team.

To prep for a season that begins March 24 against visiting Clinton and includes the Excelsior Springs Tournament, slated for April 13, the Tigers have focused on doubles play. It will be important for the…
