Course pursues selling fleet, buying new carts for golf
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The golf course plans to have a new cart fleet in March 2023.
“The city typically purchases” fleets of carts through 60-month rent-to-own agreements, City Manager Molly McGovern stated in a memoradum to city leaders.
With the current fleet’s lease set to expire, the course plans to buy and then sell those vehicles, and lease a new fleet, course golf pro Tim Jarman told city leaders.
To buy the current fleet, the city would pay just over $2,000 per cart, Shane Gardner told city leaders during the Feb. 22 City Council meeting at the Public Works Building.
Gardner is part of the partner/director group at Orion Management Solutions Inc., the Leawood, Kansas-based company that oversees the Excelsior Springs Golf Course. Orion began managing the course in February 2021.
