Edwards fourth, Tigers seventh at Overland Park Invitational
SMITHVILLE – Ethan Edwards led the way for the Tigers again at their most recent boys golf tournament.
The Excelsior Springs senior placed fourth at the Oak Park Invitational, held April 11 at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, shooting an 81 for his 18-hole round. Edwards helped the Tigers shoot a combined 369 and finish seventh out of 25 schools in the team standings.
In other Excelsior Springs results, senior Eli Smith finished with a 92, sophomore Jacob Schmidt shot a 96, junior Ryan Gluhm shot a 100 and junior JB Prestia finished with a 104. The tournament preceded an April 14 dual with Center at the Heart of America Golf Course at Swope Park. The Tigers finished the Missouri River Valley Conference West Division dual with a 182-249 win. Edwards and Prestia finished as co-individual runners-up, with each shooting a 42.
