CHILLICOTHE – Another Excelsior Springs varsity boys tennis season is over. The season ended May 10 with a 5-0 road loss to Chillicothe in the Class 1 District 15 Tournament. In doubles, the No. 1 team of juniors Carter Pitts and Colby Mueller fell 8-5. Juniors Joshua Oldham and Lee Mueller fell in No. 2 doubles 8-4, and juniors Matthew Rebellow and Nolan Greim lost the No. 3 match 8-6. Pitts dropped his singles match 6-4, 2-6, 8-10. Greim fell in singles 2-6, 1-6, putting the dual out of reach. The Tigers finished the team season 9-5 overall and 6-2 in Missouri River Valley Conference West Division play. “The boys have come a long way this season by continuing to progress every day,” coach Richie Marsh said. ...
