Wild Bunch reopens after roof replacement fixes leaks

Wild Bunch has reopened after a leaky roof caused the Excelsior Springs-based craft/flea market to close. “The roof was horrible. The city didn’t want people in here because the roof was pretty bad with the leaking,” said Tina Barton, owner and manager. Barton said she knew about the roof leaking, but it wasn’t until a snow storm that it warranted replacing. “When we opened (in April), we didn’t have any problems, … but then, there was a horrible snow storm. … I went up on the roof, where there was, like, 6-8 inches (of snow) – it was like a Sonic slush,” she said. Barton said the snow sat on the roof for a week. The ice and snow deteriorated parts of the roof, making it leak worse than before. “That’s when I started contacting John ( Blackburn, owner of building) and (telling him), ‘We need a new roof,’” Barton said.
