Bulldogs quickly take the bite out of the Tigers

KEARNEY – The Tigers got tagged early and often in their 44-6 Sept. 16 Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division road loss to undefeated Kearney in varsity 11-man football. The Bulldogs took control by staging a seven-play, 55-yard, first-quarter scoring drive, capped by an 11-yard TD pass from Casey Rooney to Zach Grace and Grant Jacobsen’s extra-point kick with 5 minutes, 57 seconds remaining. Kearney then staged a four-play, 50-yard drive on its next possession. Grace’s 3-yard TD run and Jacobsen’s point after made it 14-0 with 2:19 left in the first quarter. The Tigers answered on their next drive by driving 55 yards in eight plays, capped by senior Ethan Williams’ 5-yard TD run with 10:33 left in the first half. The extra-point attempt was no good.
