Farmers market comes to downtown Excelsior Springs
June 7 marks the second annual Excelsior Springs Downtown Farmers Market, bringing locally sourced food to the community. Sponsored by Excelsior Springs Hospital and Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, the farmer’s market is returning to the intersection of Broadway Ave. and Mill Street every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
Excelsior Springs Farmers Market Coordinator Tammy Murphy said there will be events and vendors for the entire family, including a bounce house and baby goats for patrons to enjoy on opening day, along with various vendors selling honey, meat, produce, flowers and much more.
“There is not an end date to sign up as a vendor,” Murphy said.
Vendors who would like to participate in the downtown farmers market are not required to join for the whole season, with options including weekly or monthly. Those receiving supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP) benefits are allowed to purchase from
